‎The Saudi government has issued a new set of guidelines to ensure the safety, order, and uninterrupted worship of Umrah pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan. ‎The Saudi authorities stated that the central areas of the mosque experience heavy congestion before and after prayers. To manage this situation, Umrah pilgrims are specially urged to follow designated pathways, adhere to directional signboards, and comply with the instructions of security personnel. Notably, a digital signal system has been installed at the mosque entrances: a green signal indicates that space is available inside, while a red signal indicates that the area is full.

‎The new guidelines also give special attention to elderly pilgrims and those with special needs. Separate prayer areas and electric carts for movement have been arranged for them. In addition, authorities have advised guardians not to bring children into overly crowded areas for safety reasons.

‎Other instructions include drinking sufficient water to avoid dehydration in extreme heat, taking necessary rest, and strictly following fire safety rules.

Moreover, obtaining a digital permit in advance for performing Umrah has been made mandatory. These measures have been taken primarily to make the journey of Umrah pilgrims more organized and comfortable.
